Unipampa Language Policy is ruled by CONSUNI Resolution 349/2022 and focuses on establishing institutional policies for the internationalization of the university, valuing intercultural relations and social inclusion, taking as a reference integral training, respect for diversity and solidarity. They are based on the following requirements:
- Linguistics and cultural diversity, valuing formal and informal processes that contribute to language learning and interacting to other cultures;
- International mobility and cooperation, valuing shared training processes and involving international cooperation for the exchange of students and employees/servers;
- Development and extension of actions focused at proficiency certificate in foreign/additional languages;
- Valuing teaching and learning spaces for foreign/additional languages, in person and/or at a distance, contextualized in the student’s reality, knowing the assumptions of quality of teaching and the local/global needs of the learner;
- Collaborative and intercultural methodologies, in person and/or virtual environments, that promote the autonomy of the learner of foreign/additional languages and allow interaction in different environments;
- Integral development of the student, providing their formation in the cognitive, social and cultural areas;
- Democratizing the access to the learning of foreign/additional language for all students and employees/servers;
- Teaching Portuguese language to foreigners, as a way of valuing the culture of Portuguese-speaking countries;
- Expanding training spaces for foreign/additional language teachers and undergraduate students;
- The involvement of the university’s internal and external community in actions focused at internationalization and social participation;
- Partnership with other institutions, recognizing language teaching as one of the university ‘s purpose activities, with the goal to expand teaching and learning opportunities.
DAIINTER offers systematic activities to reach the objectives of the Language Policy, such as virtual rooms for conversation in: English (English Shift); Spanish (Charla Conmigo); Kaingang language; Quilombola dialect; and Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS).
