The Brazil-Colombia Academic Mobility Program (BRACOL) is a partnership between the International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) and the Colombian Association of Universities (ASCUN) and consists of the mobility of Brazilian and Colombian undergraduate students, from all areas of knowledge, covering academic programs in math sciences, humanities and health, in a one semester period. The Cooperation Agreement dates from October 26, 2011 and was supported by the Educational Issues and Portuguese Language Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DELP/MRE) and the Colombian Embassy in Brazil.
The program benefits include grants that can be provided to both Brazilian and Colombian students, who must be regularly enrolled in an undergraduate course. Universities are committed to offering exemptions from academic fees, tuition and other similar expenses, in addition to housing and food at their own or subsidized university facilities.
The selection process takes place at the educational institution itself. The criteria defined in specific UNIPAMPA public selection notices usually requires: intermediate level of Spanish language; have at least 25% of the academic components or credits completed; have a minimum average of 6.0 in their academic records; have a maximum of three failures per grade and/or per frequency; attend at least three curricular components at the host university; and not attend a semester of probable course completion, where the student must attend at least three curricular components after their return.
The selected students are responsible for contracting travel insurance for the entire period of the scholarship, covering illness or accident, medical or funeral repatriation and personal accident insurance, as well as international health insurance valid for the country of destination, covering expenses related to possible health and transport problems in the event of death abroad. In addition, you must assume expenses related to round trip transportation, additional expenses for spouses, dependents or eventual companions, and have your own financial resources to support the period until you receive the amount of the aid. Failure to attend more than 25% of the activities planned at the destination HEI (Higher Education Institutions) are considered to be dropping out of the course.
