PEC-G

The Undergraduate Student-Agreement Program (PEC-G) was officially created in 1965 to offer foreigners the opportunity to enter Brazilian undergraduate courses, contributing significantly to the internationalization of Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and the dissemination of knowledge. It is currently governed by Decree No. 7,948/13.

Coordinated by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and Education (MEC), in partnership with public – federal and state – and private universities, the program selects foreigners, preferably from developing countries, between 18 and preferably up to 23 years old, with complete high school. The MRE coordinates the procedures related to the implementation of the program with foreign governments through diplomatic missions and Brazilian consular offices and the MEC coordinates the procedures related to the adhesion of HEIs, offer of vacancies, selection and enrollment of candidates and monitoring of the program. The undergraduate courses offered must not be at night or have part of the mandatory workload at night, as it is contrary to the regulations of the program.

The foreign student is prevented from exercising remunerated activity that constitutes an employment relationship or characterizes the payment of salary or fees for services rendered. Participation in curricular internship, research, extension and monitoring activities is allowed. You are guaranteed medical, dental and pharmaceutical assistance by the Unified Health System (SUS), in addition to being able to receive financial aid from the HEI, as housing, transportation or food, conditioned to good academic performance. Among the rules, the student cannot fail to register within the deadline, lock their registration or abandon the course, fail to obtain the minimum frequency required in each discipline, fail three times in the same discipline or in more than two disciplines in the same semester from the 2nd year or the 3rd semester of the course.

Among the objectives of the program is to assist the return of students to their countries of origin, in order to contribute to the development of human capital. Therefore, the student will receive, mandatory, personal and free of charge, his diploma, and school transcript, legalized, in the Brazilian diplomatic mission where he registered.

UNIPAMPA’s PEC-G is under the institutional responsibility of PROGRAD, which coordinates the selection for the scholarship of the Milton Santos Project for Access to Higher Education (PROMISAES), specifically for students linked to the PEC-G.
