PROAFRI

The Training Program for Higher Education Teachers of African Countries (PROAFRI) is an initiative of the International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) in partnership with the Ministry of Science and Technology, Higher Education and Vocational Technician of Mozambique (MCTES), and with the support of the Educational Themes Division of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DCE/MRE) and the Brazilian Embassy in Maputo.

The Program was launched in February 2018 and aims to expand access and improve the quality of university education on the African continent, by offering places in stricto sensu postgraduate programs for higher education professors from universities in Mozambique, through the granting of academic scholarships offered by Brazilian universities associated with the GCUB, for Master’s and Doctoral courses duly recognized by the Ministry of Education of Brazil.

Scholarship recipients benefit from exemption from tuition fees (program costs), monthly scholarships equivalent to those provided by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) and access to university restaurants, laboratories and libraries.

At UNIPAMPA, PROAFRI is under the responsibility of the Dean of Research, Graduate Studies and Innovation (PROPPI), through the Graduate Division.
